#FMPprogress: Part IV – Process and Problems faced

Part IV: She has a little fun choosing her favourite ice-cream. waiting for the ice cream

Most of the action worked on in this scene is through my imagination. of what I perceive a kids reaction would be for ice cream.

I searched the internet for reference video of kids showing excitement, or run cycle, or changes in facial expression of kids, but the search proved unsuccessful as none of the videos I was looking at was close to what I had in mind. So, I took matters into my own hands and shot more reference videos of myself trying to portray a 6-7-year-old. (hard to work on as a 24-year-old trying to act an age 4 times younger)

Frames set so far: 420. (Approx animation time: 17 secs)

Problems faced:

  • It took a long time for me to set the pointing hand to follow an arc.
  • Trying to move the ponytails simultaneously to show follow-through.
  • When trying to move her hands behind to hold each other, the hands were going through the body, had to set more keyframes to avoid that.
