With guidance from Luke, my tutor, I overcame the problems mentioned in the previous post.
Recap:
Part V: Paul (Ice-cream vendor) hands Leah the Ice cream.
Problem: I am having trouble using Maya Constraint on the ice cream and Leah’s grab onto it.
Solution:
- I created a duplicate (Shift+D) to the ice cream that Paul hands over to Leah and switch it’s visibility off.
- Next, I switched the visibility ‘OFF’ for the duplicated ice cream cone until the frame where the original Ice-cream’s visibility turns ‘OFF’. That’s where the new cone’s visibility is turned ‘ON’.
- Selecting the Right hand and the ice-cream, I added the Parent Constrain and repeated the process with the Left hand. Moving the hand now moves the ice cream too without disrupting the previously done animation.
- Using the ‘Separate’ MESH option, I broke the combined poly shapes that formed the ice cream, which I combined to make adding constraint easier. (The separation is for animating scoop falling down when Leah’s lick of the ice-cream knocks it down)
- Even after separating, the constraint applied still works.
