For the environment, I downloaded one from the website : https://www.turbosquid.com/

I added a ramp and a boat modeled in Maya by me to add to the lake effect, where the rhyme would mostly be shot from.

How to create the pond effect

In the FX tab in Maya,

  • Go to Fluids > Pond ☐ > size= 30 > Create pond

  • In the Attribute editor, scroll down to Textures > Select Texture Opacity > Texture type=SpaceTime > set Amplitude to .200 > set Frequency ratio to 2.9

  • Go back up to Container properties >Base resolution to 150
  • Go back down to Textures > right click on Texture time > Create new expression > copy- paste from Selected Object and Attribute into Expression: > add =time; > Create > in the blank next to Texture time, Type =time > hit play and see if the pond is animated

  • Tweak Texture Origin X and Y accordingly
  • Go to Modify > Convert > Fluid to Polygons
  • Assign new material > Phong > set transparency, reflectivity, color

Creating the sky dome light

Create clouds in Photoshop canvas – 3000*1005

Convert the file to hdr : https://onlineconvertfree.com/convert-format/jpg-to-hdr/

Arnold > sky dome light > color > File > select the clouds.hdr file r2
